Prepreg Dry Carbon Fiber Hood — 2024 Can-Am Maverick R | 3K Twill, Autoclave-Cured Lightweight

Prepreg Dry Carbon Fiber Hood — 2024 Can-Am Maverick R | 3K Twill, Autoclave-Cured Lightweight

Before we laid a single layer of carbon, we scanned the whole machine. Look at the image: a 2024 Can-Am Maverick R in our workshop, its front bodywork covered in small white tracking markers. That's not decoration. Those markers are how our 3D scanner turns a real vehicle into a precise digital model — the first step in building a dry carbon fiber hood that fits like the factory part, because it's measured from the factory part's home. This is the Fupower dry carbon hood for the Maverick R: prepreg carbon, 3K twill, autoclave-cured, and lighter than anything the factory offers.

It Starts With a Scan, Not a Guess

Every Fupower carbon part begins the same way — and this hood is a perfect example.

The Maverick R in this photo is covered in 3D scanning markers. Our scanner reads those reference points and captures the exact contour of the front bodywork: every curve, every mounting point, every gap. What we get is a digital twin of your machine — the source of truth for everything that follows.

Why go to this trouble? Because a carbon hood isn't just a shape. It's a fitment. A hood that sits a few millimeters off looks wrong, rattles, and lets dust and water where they shouldn't go. Off-road machines take more abuse than street cars — a hood has to be right the first time.

Measured from the real vehicle, prototyped and verified before production: that's the difference between a part that fits and a part that almost fits.

Prepreg: Why the Material Choice Matters

Not all carbon fiber is equal. The difference is in how the material is made.

Wet layup — resin is brushed onto dry cloth by hand, which means resin content varies from part to part, and strength varies with it.

Prepreg — carbon cloth is pre-impregnated with a precisely controlled amount of resin at the factory. Every layer carries exactly the right resin-to-fiber ratio.

Fupower uses prepreg dry carbon. The controlled resin content means:

  • More predictable strength — every layer behaves the same as the last
  • Lower weight — no excess resin being carried around
  • Better finish — the surface is clean and uniform before it even reaches the autoclave

Combined with the 3K twill weave — the classic diagonal carbon pattern — the hood looks like motorsport, because it's built like motorsport.

The Autoclave: Heat, Pressure, Integrity

After the prepreg layers are laid by hand, the hood enters the autoclave — cured under controlled heat and pressure.

This step is what separates structural carbon from decorative carbon:

  • Pressure compacts every layer — eliminating the microscopic voids that weaken a laminate
  • Heat cures the resin uniformly — consistent strength across the entire panel
  • Surface quality is locked in — the clean, even finish you see is a product of the process, not a coating that hides flaws

Autoclave-cured dry carbon is the same construction standard used in aerospace. For a hood that will take rocks, branches, sun and pressure-washing, it's the only standard that makes sense.

Why Lightweight Matters on the Maverick R

The Maverick R is a serious machine — 200+ horsepower of off-road capability with suspension geometry tuned for big hits at high speed. On a vehicle like this, weight is a handling input.

The factory hood is a heavy composite panel. Replacing it with dry carbon cuts a meaningful amount of weight — and it's weight high on the front of the machine, where reducing mass improves steering response, suspension behavior, and how the whole front end settles after a landing.

Lighter nose. Lower center of effort. Same strength. That's what the hood contributes to the build.

Built for the 2024 Maverick R, Verified on the Real Machine

This is the part you already watched us develop: scanned from the actual vehicle in our workshop, prototyped, verified, then produced in our own carbon fiber facility — the same clean, temperature-controlled workshop where every layer is laid by hand and cured under pressure.

Upgrade your 2024 Can-Am Maverick R with a dry carbon hood that's measured, built and finished by the same hands.

Key Features

🔬 3D-scanned from the real Maverick R — the white markers in this image capture the actual body geometry, so fitment is measured, not guessed

🏭 Prepreg dry carbon fiber — pre-impregnated material with precisely controlled resin content; stronger and lighter than wet-lay parts

♨️ Autoclave-cured — cured under controlled heat and pressure for structural integrity and a clean, finished surface

🧶 3K twill weave — the classic motorsport carbon look, visible in the fiber direction, not a printed film 🪶 Lightweight — dramatically lighter than the factory panel, cutting weight high on the machine where it hurts handling most

📐 Direct replacement for 2024 Can-Am Maverick R — engineered from the real vehicle, built to bolt on without fabrication

🛡️ UV-protected clear coat — sealed against sun fade and weather, because off-road machines live outside 🤝 OEM / custom options welcome — same process and quality for your spec
