BMW M5 G90 / G99 Titanium Front Mount Intake — New Development

BMW M5 G90 / G99 Titanium Front Mount Intake — New Development

The hybrid M5 has one of the hottest engine bays BMW has ever built. So we moved the intake out of it. Every intake upgrade starts with the same problem: heat. The 2025+ M5 (G90 sedan / G99 touring) packs a twin-turbo S68 V8, electric drive hardware, cooling systems and electronics into a space that gets brutally hot under load. Air drawn from inside that bay is air that's already lost density — and lost density means lost power. That's the idea behind Fupower's newly developed titanium front mount intake for the G90/G99: relocate the intake to the front of the car, where airflow is coolest, and build it from titanium — a material that's light, heat-resistant, and doesn't hold onto engine-bay temperature the way plastic and steel do.

Why Front Mount? Because Cold Air Has to Come From Somewhere

The principle is simple: denser air makes more power. Cooler air is denser air. And the coolest air around a moving car isn't inside the engine bay — it's at the front of the car, in the airflow.

A front mount intake takes advantage of exactly that:

  • Air is sourced ahead of the heat — outside the hot zone, before the radiator and exhaust have a chance to warm it
  • Airflow does the work — as the car moves, cool air is continuously available at the intake
  • Underhood heat stops being the bottleneck — the intake is no longer competing for the same hot air as every other component in the bay

On a hybrid M5, where the bay is even more crowded and heat-loaded than a conventional performance car, that relocation matters more, not less.

Why Titanium, Not Steel or Plastic

Titanium is the material that answers every problem an intake faces:

  • Weight — titanium is dramatically lighter than stainless steel, and it's weight off the front of the car
  • Heat — titanium's low thermal conductivity means it doesn't soak up and radiate engine-bay heat the way metal piping can
  • Durability — it handles sustained high temperatures and vibration with ease
  • Character — where titanium is welded, the metal develops its own heat-treated coloring; no coating or paint can reproduce it

For a front mount intake that lives in the airflow and near serious heat, titanium isn't overkill. It's the right specification.

Built in Our Own Factory

This intake is a Fupower development, start to finish: designed around the G90/G99 chassis, fabricated from titanium, TIG-welded by hand, and finished in our own workshop — the same facility behind our titanium exhaust and intake work for BMW's M cars.

That means we control the details: the fitment against the chassis, the weld quality, and the final surface. It's not an imported part with a logo added.

Fitment

New development, now available — give your M5 air from the coolest place on the car.

Key Features

🪶 Titanium construction — dramatically lighter than steel or factory plastic, with the strength to match ❄️ Front-mounted design — the intake breathes from the front of the car, away from the engine bay's heat 🔥 Minimal heat soak — titanium resists absorbing and transferring underhood heat, keeping charge air denser

⚙️ Precision TIG-welded — clean, consistent welds produced in our own factory

✨ Heat-treated titanium finish — the signature blue-and-gold coloration that develops where titanium is welded

🌬️ High-flow intake path — a smoother, less restrictive route for air feeding the S68's twin turbos 🚗 Developed for 2025+ BMW M5 (G90 / G99) — engineered around the hybrid powertrain layout

🏭 In-house production — developed, fabricated and finished under our own roof
