This cold forming process utilizes custom-designed dies and hydraulic presses to process 304-grade automotive stainless steel tubing without heating, thereby preserving the material’s structural integrity and corrosion resistance.

Precise Loading and Alignment: Round tubing cut to length is manually positioned on a dedicated forming die, ensuring perfect alignment with the figure-8 groove to achieve consistent and repeatable results.

Hydraulic Cold Forming: A high-strength hydraulic piston, paired with a matching upper die, descends to apply uniform, controlled pressure to the tube end. The metal undergoes plastic deformation to conform to the die’s geometry, forming a seamless, precision-shaped figure-8 opening in a single press.

Finished Part Extraction: The formed tubing is removed, ready for subsequent welding, assembly, or surface treatment to manufacture custom exhaust components such as dual-outlet tips, Y-pipes, and manifold connectors.
