Fupower produces exhaust systems in T304 stainless with mandrel bends and TIG welds, and the honest answer is that a quote is really three numbers added together: parts, labor, and consumables. Any single figure you see online is one of those three.
Parts. Axle-back, 800. Cat-back, 2,500 depending on material and brand. Headers only, 1,000. Header-back or full system, 2,500. A high-flow catted downpipe on a turbo car, 800. A muffler alone, 300.
Labor. Shop rates run roughly 150 per hour for general repair and 150+ at a performance shop or dealership, with major-city rates adding several percent and small rural shops sometimes charging less. Time is what moves the total: a muffler swap is 1–2 hours, a bolt-on cat-back 1–3 hours (300 in labor at most shops), header installation 4–8 hours because access is tight and the bolts are usually seized from heat cycling (800), and a full custom system 4–8 hours. Full custom fabrication in stainless runs 2,500+ on its own.
Consumables people forget. Gaskets 30 each, clamps 15, hangers 20, O2 sensors 200 each if yours are original, and a replacement converter 2,000. Bespoke routing or a specific sound target adds 1,000 in fabrication. Ceramic coating on headers adds 200.
A realistic worked example: 100, 1,100 for a quality stainless cat-back installed.
What actually raises the quote. Material first. Aluminized steel is cheaper but is a 3–5 year part in salt-belt climates; 304 stainless is the standard that lasts; titanium is roughly 40% lighter and costs two to three times stainless. Then access — a transverse V6 or a rear-mounted turbo adds hours. Then the hidden costs: restoring the car to stock before sale runs 1,800, and if the job removes emissions equipment, tuning adds 1,000 and the modification is not street-legal regardless of what it cost.
How to read a quote. Ask the shop to split it into parts, labor, fabrication, and hardware, and to state whether gaskets, clamps, hangers, and a leak check are included. Ask what bender they use — mandrel bends hold their internal diameter through a turn, crush bends choke at every bend. If the shop cannot answer those two questions, the price is not the problem.
Fupower publishes no fixed price for an exhaust upgrade, because the total depends on the platform, the material, and whether the part is an off-the-shelf fitment or a custom build. Fupower quotes per project and supports OEM/ODM development and private labeling, where the unit cost is driven by volume and specification rather than by retail installation.
Operating from an advanced production facility in Shanghai, Fupower provides full OEM/ODM development, private labeling with custom laser branding, and reliable global logistics.
