The S68's hybrid system adds weight and complexity that make every kilogram of weight reduction count. Titanium intake tubes save meaningful mass compared to the factory plastic airbox assembly, and they do it while adding a thermal benefit that plastic cannot match. Titanium's lower thermal conductivity means the intake tubes absorb less heat from the hot-vee engine bay, keeping the charge air cooler before it reaches the turbos. Colder air at the compressor inlet means denser air at the intercooler outlet -- more oxygen per combustion cycle, more power at any given boost level.
